Adding Value...Maximizing Resources
Resource Training & Solutions is a Minnesota Service Cooperative, one of nine in the state. As a nonprofit public corporation we provide services to school districts, cities, counties, governmental agencies and nonprofits as well as communities in Central Minnesota. We train teachers, improve schools, inspire students, build safer communities, develop professionals and insure success!
Here’s a list of some of the things we do:
We’re the people who put on many of the academic events you see in the news. We facilitate the Spelling Bee
, Young Authors Young Artists
, Project Earth
, Science Rocks!
, Knowledge Bowl
and others. These programs enrich the educational experiences for thousands of central Minnesota’s kids each year.
We help schools develop their curricula through the Title 1 and gifted and talented networks. Essentially, we teach the people who teach Minnesota’s students.
Another program we offer to enrich education in Central Minnesota is Leading Forward: Transforming Education
. This professional development program helps school administrators identify leaders and use those leaders to coach other educators.
It’s not just schools
While much of our work is school-centered, it’s not our only focus. We’re proud to offer many of the same services to cities, counties, other government agencies, nonprofits and the general public. Programs include health insurance, wellness programs, cooperative purchasing, health and safety, professional training and parenting classes.
We provide high quality insurance
to public servants while keeping costs down. It’s called economies of scale. The more you have of something, the lower the price per unit. By pooling their employees with those of other agencies, school districts, cities, counties are able to get a better rate. We manage the self-insured health insurance pool. By having a large, diverse membership, we’re able to reduce costs for everyone, including taxpayers.
We’re insuring a healthier workforce by facilitating successful wellness programs
. The result is a lower number of absences and fewer visits to the doctor, which keeps insurance premiums lower than average. While we facilitate and provide the incentives for wellness programs, they’re made possible by coordinators in each organization that participates in the program.
Topics such as discipline, respect, emotional and mental health issues are presented by experts. In depth classes also offered are “Parenting the Love and Logic Way
” as well as “1-2-3 Magic.”
One of the biggest costs associated with any organization is the bureaucracy involved in buying the things they need. Cooperative Purchasing
allows organizations to buy from vetted vendors at competitive prices, without having to wait through the bid process. Saving time saves money.
Health & Safety
Our Health and Safety
experts perform safety inspections, advise asbestos removal, provide training, and perform a variety of other tasks that make our cities, counties, schools and other organizations a safer places to work.
All our trainings
can be conducted at your location or ours on a custom basis. Topics include: Diversity in the Workplace, Customer Service, Microsoft Excel and iPads for Businesses.
Located on the border of Sartell and St. Cloud, our location is an ideal setting for meetings, training or retreats. Our new facility
is equipped to handle groups from 10-150. Get free wi-fi, optional catering, free parking and support from our professional staff.
